Alan Sugar updates Twitter during 2 mins silence – We Will Remember Them

On 11th November every year, the nation comes together to honour those who lost their lives fighting for the country.

Today I noticed that Twitter had decided to join in, by asking people not to update their statuses for the 2 minutes from 11am.

However, despite telling his followers not to update, Sir Alan Sugar posted two tweets during the time of the silence – one about reaching a large amount of followers (125k).

This is obviously not something that is going to do him any favours in the public eye, especially with his new book having just been released and a new series of The Apprentice currently being shown on BBC 1. He is in the limelight more than ever.

I am happy to report though that I didn’t notice any other celebrities update during this time.

Also, I know that Radio 2 had an interview with a lady being broadcast throughout the entire 2 minute silence.

Did you notice any celebrities updating during the silence? Name and shame them below.

EDIT 24/11 – Today it has been revealed that there is to be a 10 minute Twitter silence tomorrow (25/11) at 11am for those lost in the Pike River Mine disaster. Let’s hope celebrities join in and help to honour the lives that have been lost.
