The PR Guru

January 14, 2013

We support two charities in our local community: Arch North Staffordshire and Young Enterprise (North Staffordshire Area Board).

Both are very worthy causes with two distinct remits. Arch helps the victims of domestic violence and homelessness, while Young Enterprise aims to improve young people’s career prospects and give them the skills to run their own business.

Both have a series of events in 2013 and we need your help to spread the word and bring in some donations!

Here’s what Arch is up to over the next couple of months:

January 28th-February 1st: a series of events to mark National Homelessness Week, culminating in the annual sleep out at venues around North Staffordshire and South Cheshire

Feb 12th: ten pin bowling night at Tenpin, Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent. Starts at 7.30pm, £12.50 per person (with a free drink)

All the money raised from these, and other Arch events, goes direct to the victims of domestic violence – particularly the children who are often the forgotten victims.

None of the money will be spent on administration, salaries or any of Arch’s general running costs.

As for Young Enterprise, this is a very busy time for everyone involved in our Company Programme.

At the beginning of February (Sat 2nd), our companies will be exhibiting their wares at the Potteries Shopping Centre, in the annual trade fair.

And then at the end of March, they will be presenting to an audience of local business people at the Young Enterprise Area Finals, at Alton Towers.

This is a free event, taking place on the evening of Tuesday 26th March, and we need as many of you to be there as possible, to lend your support to our young achievers.

They have been running their own businesses since September, dealing with everything from raising capital and product development, to marketing and keeping their accounts up-to-date.

March 26th will be the first time many of them have presented on stage in front of a large audience, so it’s a big challenge for them but a great experience!

Hopefully we’ll be seeing you at one or two of those events.

Again, all money raised for Young Enterprise goes towards helping more young people, and more schools, take part in the competition.
